Fact 1) VIN #20867S101361 (build date October 13th, 1961)
Fact 2) original colors Honduras Maroon with Fawn Beige interior
Fact 3) RPO-687 big brake/HD suspension
Fact 4) fast steering adaptor
Fact 5) double front sway bars (part of Sebring Race package)
Fact 6) maroon roll bar with drilled test hole
Fact 7) fiberglass gas tank cover cut on both sides
Fact 8) 3” prox. Holes cut in lower valance behind bumpers (rally lamps?)
Fact 9) had a full tonneau (cockpit) cover
Fact 10) had a hardtop in its early life
Fact 11) had combo racing stripe down middle of car
Rumor 12) had a small LH side racing windshield
Fact 13) has original seats, dash pads, pad, gauges, and steering wheel
Fact 14) RH side of the car had been damaged and repaired
Fact 15) last Pennsylvania inspection sticker October 31st, 1970
Fact 16) oil change stickers: Mobil (Glenwood Motors, 900 Main Str., Taylor, PA, phone #344-0390) and Citgo, ESSO
Rumor 17) spent its residential life in Scranton, PA area
Rumor 18) raced in PA at the Giants of Despair Hill Climb
Rumor 19) raced by Ed Schwartz (Dalton, PA) in SCCA modified class at Lime Rock, Marlboro, Watkins Glen, VIR, and Daytona with a group of drivers who raced together, i.e.: Schwartz, Ben Moore, Ted Williams, and Roger Penske in 1962
Rumor 20) may have been raced at SCCA National Virginia (VIR) on April 29th, 1962 with Ben Moore as driver with race number 18.
Rumor 21) Ed Schwartz said he bought two 1962 Maroon/Beige Corvettes for the 1962 racing circuit and the cars were supplied by GM without engines installed (shipped separately)
Rumor 22) Roger Penske may have sponsored the racing effort, or Hauser Chevrolet.
Rumor 23) Jack Phillips (Dalton, PA) was second owner (1963-1964) and confirms white racing combo stripe
Rumor 24) Danny Buranich (Factoryville, PA) was third owner ('64 to August '66) and RH side of the car was damaged while he owned.
